  • First Day Hike – Catalina State Park

    Catalina State Park 11570 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, Arizona

    Explore the beautiful views of the mountains and Oro Valley with a ranger. The whole hike will be around 3.2 mi/5.1 km long and moderately difficult. Please be prepared to hike on rocky terrain with little shade. Meet at the Equestrian Center near the horse corrals. Registration is required.

  • First Day Hike – Tonto Natural Bridge

    Tonto Natural Bridge State Park 10 miles north of Payson on Hwy 87, Payson, Arizona

    A one-hour tour leading from the top to an observation deck looking into the natural bridge at the creek bottom. The trail is steep and rough. Visitors should bring good shoes, warm clothes, and drinking water. As part of the celebration of America's 250th anniversary, all First Day Hikes will be offered with no fee!

  • First Day Hike – Dead Horse Ranch State Park

    Dead Horse Ranch State Park 675 Dead Horse Ranch Road, Cottonwood, Arizona

    Join us at 10 a.m. for a guided hike along the west lagoon, Arroyo Trail and Verde River Trail. Please make sure to bring water and appropriate footwear. As part of the celebration of America's 250th anniversary, all First Day Hikes will be offered with no fee!

    Join us for a guided hike of the Petroglyph Trail (weather dependent). The trail requires a mild climb, and a number of petroglyphs (pictures carved on stone) and interpretive signs are easily visible.

    Calloway Trail with Ranger Bailey - The elevation gain of this trail is 334 feet and the hike's total distance is 1 mile. Plan on hiking approximately 1.5-2 hours. Enjoy the scenic surroundings of the Sonoran Desert to trek the Calloway Trail to an overlook on the face of Picacho Peak.
