Read & Rec: Saplings & Stories
April 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Saplings & Stories will be a collaborative Read & Rec program hosted in partnership between Apache Junction Parks & Recreation and the Public Library. Read & Rec is hosted monthly, but this special event will combine literacy, environmental stewardship, and community engagement in celebration of America 250.
The program will take place at Prospector Park and will include a crafts, community tree planting, a themed storytime, and distribution of free tree saplings provided through Neighborhood Forest. Participants will have the opportunity to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary while contributing to a greener future and strengthening community connections.
This joint initiative highlights the value of partnerships, promotes sustainability, and provides families with a meaningful, hands-on experience that blends reading, recreation, and service.
