Del Webb Sun Cities Museum Bicentennial Time Capsule Opening
To celebrate the Bicentennial in 1976, residents of Sun City created a replica of the famed Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The Liberty Bell was dedicated on Nov. 15, 1976, and a time capsule placed in its base, to be opened 50 years later. The Del Webb Sun Cities Museum will hold an event 1-3 p.m. Nov. 15, 2026 to celebrate the opening of the time capsule, display the items inside and replace it with a new time capsule to be opened in 2076.
